Vascular laser treatment is used to treat a wide variety of vascular conditions, including facial capillaries, spider veins, stretch marks, rosacea, hemangiomas and portwine stains. Desired results may require more than one laser treatment.

Before the procedure your doctor will remove all make-up and skin products to prep your skin for treatment. Eyewear should be worn to protect the eyes from the laser light. During treatment, the healthcare provider will pass the laser of the treatment area. The laser is said to feel like a rubber band snapping against your skin. No anesthesia is required, but your doctor may provide the option of medication to ensure the treatment is comfortable and put any related anxiety at ease.

Optimum results can require up to three treatments. Recovery depends on condition and power used to treat that condition. Redness and bruising may occur, but make-up may be used immediately as camouflage. Patients should avoid exposure to the sun during recovery.

Procedure: 15 to 30 minutes

Recovery: Redness and bruising up to 1 week; return to normal activities immediately.

Average Cost: Varies based on treatment area and number of treatments required.
