Labiaplasty is a surgical procedure that reduces and/or reshape the labia minora and labia majora, which are the external skin folds that covers the female clitoris and vaginal opening. The purpose of a labiaplasty is to better define the inner labia and/or labia majora. Problems with the inner/outer labia can be caused by genetics, sexual intercourse or difficulties in childbirth. In some instances, women with large labia can experience pain during intercourse, feel discomfort in their clothing, or simply feel unattractive.

Labiaplasty is indicated for women who are experiencing sexual dysfunction, embarrassment, or pain because their labia are over-sized or asymmetrical; or for women who dislike their large labia or shape of their labia, which may cause inelegance or awkwardness with a sexual partner. Labiaplasty is an outpatient procedure usually performed under local anesthesia. After surgery, patients may experience some mild discomfort and swelling. Labial incisions usually heal and are rarely noticeable.
