Cellulite Treatment

Most of us have it at one time or another: The dreaded appearance of cellulite, which becomes more prominent as we age, experience hormonal changes, or gain weight. Despite many long hours of exercise, this intruder refuses to disappear. But finally there’s good news in the battle of this particular bulge. Two treatments now promise to smooth out the bumps:

Cellulaze. This technology works by going beneath the skin. Specialized laser treatment increasing the skin’s natural thickness, and causes a shield to form, which helps to conceal the lumpy appearance of cellulite.

Cellulaze treatments are minimally invasive, beginning with either a local anesthesia or numbing solution before your doctor inserts the laser fiber under the skin via tiny incisions. As the fat cells are liquefied, they are gently pushed out, collagen production is stimulated to increase elasticity and smoothness, and fibrous bands are released to eliminate dimpling on the skin’s surface. Four years of clinical research has shown at least a 25% improvement of both thickness and elasticity of the skin. One year post treatment, Cellulaze study results boast visibly smoother skin, few side effects, and continued effectiveness after only one treatment.

Another popular method used to counter cellulite is the Venus Freeze which combines magnetic pulses with radio frequency (RF Technology). Not only is this treatment pain free, it’s said to be as enjoyable as a warm massage.

Venus Freeze uses a device in which a magnetic field is generated which penetrates several layers of skin, increasing tissue temperature and breaking down triglycerides located in fat cells. Free fatty acids are then released into the blood stream, decreasing the volume of fat cells. Six to eight treatments, every two weeks, are recommended for optimum results with Venous Freeze.

Procedure: 1 to 2 hours (Cellulaze); 30 minutes (Venus Freeze)

Recovery: 1 to 2 days for minor bruising (Cellulaze); immediate (Venus Freeze)

Average Cost: $2500 to $5000 (Cellulaze, varies by treated area size and demographic location); $250 to $500 per session (Venus Freeze, depends on treated area)
