Calf augmentation is a surgical implant procedure used to enhance underdeveloped legs or to create symmetry between uneven legs that result from physical deformities. Calf implants are designed to create an anatomically correct, natural shape when inserted into the lower leg. Implants are made of a soft and pliable silicone-based material.

During the calf augmentation procedure, your surgeon will create an incision on the back of the leg in the knee fold. The implant is then carefully placed into a pocket made between the calf muscle and the muscle lining. Absorbable stitches are used to close the pocket and incision. Local anesthesia or sedation may be used to maintain comfort during surgery. Results are permanent as long as the implant remains in place. Expect discomfort for several days after the procedure.

Surgery: 1 hour per calf

Recovery: 3 days to return to work; 6 weeks for full recovery.

Average Cost: $6500
